Mac Tips – Restoring Minimised Programs on a Mac

When using programs on a Mac, pressing the minus (-) sign to minimise the program, minimises it to the tray. Unlike Windows, pressing Alt + Tab on a Mac will cycle through the open programs, but will not restore the window.

To work around this, instead of clicking the minus sign in the top left or pressing Cmd + M to minimise, press Cmd + H to Hide the program. Then use Alt + Tab to cycle and restore open programs.

OR

If you want to minimise the tray, use Alt + Tab to cycle through programs, but then press and hold the Option key when the program you wish to restore is selected. It will then restore the program highlighted.
