Surrender
Hold those memories oh so close
Provided no guidance, feeling lost.
No idea, no direction, no sign post
The thing I thought I wanted most –
I had to surrender.
My head said yes, my heart said no
Undecided, someone tell me the way to go.
No longer want to feel this way
Looking forward to magical days –
I had to surrender.
I wrote it out, let the feelings free
Locked it down, sent it away forever
No longer inside, no longer a part of me
Feeling free – feeling lighter, feeling better –
I had to surrender.
Open up my mind, bear my soul
Unchain my heart, allow someone to hold.
Take it slow, play it safe
Time to be had, this isn’t a race.
But first I had to let go,
So glad I was able to surrender.
