Wake Me Up, When The Lecture Ends

Wake Me Up, When The Lecture Ends

I was looking for something I wrote when I was at uni, but couldn’t find it! So I had to rewrite it; it’s not exactly the same, but pretty close. A parody of Greenday’s Wake Me Up When September Ends

Wake Me Up, When The Lecture Ends

The Friday lunch has come and passed
The hackysack can never last
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Like the fourth years come to pass
The last two years have gone so fast
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Here come the slides again
I’m staring from afar
Boredom in my brain again
Wishing I was in my car

As my memory rests
I can never recall for tests
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Holidays have come and passed
The happiness can never last
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Cry out with pain again
Like we did when exams began
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Here comes the test again
Passed down the lecture stairs
Drenched in my fear again
My brain was never aware

As my memory rests
I can never recall for tests
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Semesters have come and passed
The studying can never last
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

Like the lectures come to pass
Subjects have gone so fast
Wake me up, when the lecture ends
Wake me up, when the lecture ends
Wake me up, when the lecture ends

This was really easy to write, considering I was sitting in the lecture at the time. It wasn’t too hard to remember either! I remember those feelings, especially during the summer, right near the end of the year. I’m sure all uni students can understand where I’m coming from.
