Mac Tips – Showing Hidden Folders

Showing the hidden folders on a Windows machine is easy, go into folder options and enable it. On a Mac, you can’t click a magic button and it happens. Here’s how:

1. Open the terminal shell (Utilities > Terminal)

2. Enter the following command at the prompt:defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

3. Reload the Finder window. Hold down the option key, click and hold on the finder icon in the Dock and select Relaunch.

The finder will now show all the hidden folders you couldn’t see before. Hope this helps, I found this information here.
