Writing Tips: Spot the Difference 12: Dependent vs Dependant

Another one that I have come across recently.

Dependent:

1. relying on someone or something else for aid, support, etc.
2. conditioned or determined by something else; contingent: Our trip is dependent on the weather.

Dependant:

Someone who relies on you for financial support

In the majority of cases, dependent is the word that is appropriate.
