Writing Tips: Spot the Difference (6): It’s vs Its vs Its’

Time to delve into the apostrophes. This one is commonly abused on a regular basis, probably because people are too lazy to use the apostrophe.

Abbreviated form of “it is”. It is a cold day today. She said it is a great place to visit.

Belonging to it. The dog chewed on its bone.

Doesn’t exist.
